The position of Installation and Commissioning Engineer is a professional technical role responsible for ensuring equipment or systems operate normally from installation to commissioning. Specific requirements vary slightly across industries (such as automation, electric power, medical equipment, industrial machinery, etc.), but the core responsibilities and capability requirements are roughly as follows:

I. Educational Background Requirements

Generally requires a college degree or above, with a major related to the industry, such as:

Science and engineering majors like Automation, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, etc.;

Some industries with high technical precision requirements (such as medical equipment, precision instruments) may require a bachelor's degree or above.

II. Professional Skill Requirements

Equipment Installation and Commissioning Ability:

Familiar with the structure and working principle of equipment in the responsible field (such as industrial robots, power equipment, medical imaging equipment, etc.);

Able to complete equipment assembly, wiring, and installation according to drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical parameters;

Master debugging methods, able to eliminate equipment faults through testing and parameter adjustment to make the equipment reach the designed operating state.

Technical Operation and Tool Usage:

Skilled in using professional tools (such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, PLC programming software, debugging-specific instruments, etc.);

Understand electrical, mechanical, and software systems related to the equipment (such as knowledge of PLC programming, CAD drawing interpretation, basic circuit design, etc.).

Fault Diagnosis and Maintenance Ability:

Able to quickly identify technical problems during installation and commissioning (such as mechanical jams, short circuits, software errors, etc.);

Have certain maintenance experience, able to propose solutions and implement them.

Industry-Specific Knowledge:

For example, the power industry requires knowledge of high-voltage distribution specifications; the medical equipment industry requires familiarity with medical device safety standards (such as ISO 13485); the automation industry requires mastery of industrial control systems (SCADA, DCS), etc.

III. Work Experience Requirements

Fresh graduates: Some enterprises accept outstanding fresh graduates, but relevant internship experience is required (such as participating in equipment installation and commissioning projects);

Junior positions: Usually require 1-3 years of relevant industry installation and commissioning experience, able to independently complete the commissioning of simple equipment;

Mid-to-senior positions: Require more than 3-5 years of experience, able to handle the commissioning of complex systems, or lead a team to complete large-scale projects. Candidates with successful project cases are preferred.

IV. Comprehensive Qualities and Soft Skills

Practical Ability and Execution: Need to personally install, wire, and operate equipment, requiring skilled and careful movements, and the ability to complete tasks efficiently;

Learning Ability: Equipment technology updates rapidly, so the ability to quickly master the structure and debugging methods of new products is required;

Communication and Coordination Ability:

Need to communicate with clients to understand their needs and feedback on equipment operation;

Coordinate with production, R&D, and after-sales teams to solve technical problems in a timely manner;

Problem-Solving Ability: Be able to analyze complex technical problems calmly and propose effective solutions;

Sense of Responsibility and Safety Awareness: Strictly abide by safety operating procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment during installation and commissioning;

Adaptability: Be able to accept business trips (as installation and commissioning work often requires on-site service at the client's location) and adapt to different working environments.
